Collection: Riley Bataillard

Riley Bataillard is a non-binary, queer multidisciplinary visual artist. They are from treaty 6, a citizen of the Métis Nation of Alberta, and currently residing on Erie, Neutral, Huron-Wendat, Mississauga's and Haudenosaunee traditional territories. Their work is grounded in activism, focusing on relationship to the land, animal and spirit relations, ancestors, self-care, and social justice.

Riley’s work aims to support community projects that they align with, as well as advocating for a better future. Riley’s work has recently been published in Briarpatch magazine, as well as on the cover of ‘pîkiskiwewin sâkihtowin,’ a zine of Indigiqueer literature by Seán Carson Kinsella, and throughout Edgewalkers Remedy, a folk album by Piper and Carson. Currently, Riley is working on studies of colour and texture, delving into mixed media, and focusing on themes of belonging, identity, and the natural world in their pieces.
